Word Work pass You can read this word because you know how to read words that end with two letters that are the same. What sound do the two s’s stand for? Now blend p, a, ss. What is the word? pick, king, and sink You can read these words because you know how to read words that end with ck, ng, and nk. Each pair of letters stands for one sound. What sound does ck stand for? What sound does ng stand for? What sound does nk stand for? Now say the sounds in each word to yourself and read the words.
