2 The layers of clay are very very old, with a thin layer of glacial deposits on top. So why are they so high above sea level today? How is the Ice Age responsible for their visibility to us?

3 Some layers are 100 million year old deposits, from the Cretaceous.

4 Clay deposits are extremely soft, so the erosion is significant. Notice the color of the water.

5 Certain layers are rich with fossils. Based on the fossils, what can you say about how these layers formed millions of years ago?
