1 SPACE TRAVEL Eldon Primary School KS2 Science Project (Autumn 2015)

2 Who are these people? (from left to right) Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin

3 What historical event have they been a part of? They took part in the Apollo 11 mission and were the first humans to land on the Moon.

4 Science Project Task: There are two parts to the project. Part 1 To research and write a report about the Apollo 11 Space Mission and the Saturn V Moon Rocket.

5 Science Project Task: Use following questions to guide you: -How do you get to the Moon? -Who took part in the Apollo Space mission? -How does the Saturn V Moon rocket prepare for launch? -How does the rocket prepare to land on the Moon? -Other interesting facts about the Saturn V Rocket and the Apollo Programme.

6 How does a rocket work? Use the internet and books to find out information about how a rocket works and write your ideas in a paragraph.

7 The report must be carefully researched and well presented. Scrap pieces of paper and untidy writing will NOT be accepted.

8 Part 2: To design and make a model rocket.

9 Deadline: The report and rocket must be handed in on Friday 15th January 2016

10 Collect Fruit Shoot bottles
