Course overview A one day course that looks at: What informs behaviour
The strengths and weaknesses of a number of models associated with behaviour change COM-B model The benefits of basing interventions on appropriate models Behavioural Change Techniques

Road User Behaviour With the person next to you, discuss and quickly list what informs your behaviour as a road user. Possible answers: Your previous experiences Your training Your personality traits Your beliefs Journey constraints Your perception of ability and skills Learning outcome For the group to understand the complexity of driving behaviour Method The group should be divided into a number of sub-groups of approximately 4 or 5 The groups should be asked to discuss and list their ideas in relation to the question “What informs your behaviour as a driver?” Once complete each group should be asked for one answer in turn and the facilitator should place these on the white board. The sub-groups should be asked to explain their answer. The completed participants’ list should then be compared and contrasted with list the shown on the presentation.
