The Life To Come Ecclesiastes 1:14 “I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind

Life is not a bed of roses.  We question why things happen.  We wonder why God allows things to happen.  If this is all there is, then what is the point of doing good?

This Life isn’t Everything  We see the futility of living good lives if there is nothing beyond this life.  1 Corinthians 15:32: “If from human motives I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die”.

God Gave us something to look forward to.  We may question everything, but we would be wise to hear God’s answers to the questions, and not man’s.  Jesus taught about a resurrection that leads to life beyond this life.  Luke 20:27-38  John 5:28-29  John 11:23-26, 40-45

The resurrection is the foundation of all that we are as Christians  Jesus is proven to be the Son of God  We are given a living hope.  1 Peter 1:3-5  It is in this heavenly hope that great power is found in our lives.

It helps me deal with worry and anxiety  How many things do we worry about?  Jesus is in control of everything.  Ephesians 1:19-21  If we trust in Christ, we do not need to worry.

It helps me deal with hurts and forgiveness  When others hurt you, look to Jesus  We cannot be forgiven if we do not forgive others.  Matthew 6:14-15  No matter how much others have hurt us, it is nothing compared to what Christ went through.  1 Peter 2:21-23

We look forward to going there  Perhaps for a great reunion.  Perhaps for the wonderful singing.  Perhaps just to be with God and Jesus.  The greatest people of all time will be there.

Why I waNT to go there  This world is not my home, I’m just a passing thru.  There is a city described in the Book that I want to go see.  This will be the fulfillment of what I was created for.  My tears will be wiped away, and there will be eternal joy, peace, and bliss.

Conclusion  Does your life have an endless hope,  Or a hopeless end.  Without God in your life now, life is hopeless.  Are you ready to allow God’s grace give you the hope God wants you to have?
