What to do when one or a few students aren’t sure their clickers are working: 1. Check that the plastic battery protector tabs have been removed. 1.Have the student(s) reset the transmission frequency (GO-#-#); look for the green LED. 2. When it’s convenient, run a polling test with that student’s keypad, and/or 3. Do the following when you come to your next interactive (Q&A) slide…

Click on either of the two icons circled on the showbar.

A scrolling grid that appears showing students and device ID numbers. Cells in the grid that shows after the left-circled icon is clicked will change color as the students respond. Cells in the grid that shows after the right -circled icon is clicked will disappear as the students respond. Students whose names do not respond in the grid should be advised to replace/exchange their clickers at the bookstore of replace clicker batteries.

Scroll down, click on the number next to Grid Rotation Interval. Change the number, i.e., of seconds that each grid cell display stays on-screen before rotating to the next set (the default is 2 seconds).

While you are in the Settings window, you can also set the Device ID and Display Device Numbers to False to make it easier for students to find their names…

When you next select one of the grid options, it will appear showing only student names.

Either of the grids will quickly determine if a student’s clicker responses are being recorded.
