2. What is a Club? A club is an organisation set up for the benefit of its members, e.g. Golf Club, Rugby Club, GAA Club, Bridge Club, etc. Members elect officials (Chairperson, Secretary & Treasurer) to run the club at the AGM (Annual General Meeting)

3. What does the Chairperson do? Runs the club Chairs meetings Keeps order at meetings Follows the agenda Puts motions to a vote

4. What does the Secretary do? Calls meetings Sends agenda to the members (the agenda is a list of topics to be discussed at the meeting) Arranges the meetings Takes note at the meetings of decisions and writes up the minutes (the minutes are a written record of what was discussed and decided at a meeting)

6. What does the Treasurer do? Collect subscriptions (membership fees) Issue receipts for all money received Lodges money received to the club’s bank account Pay all the club’s bills Keep a record of all income and expenditure Prepare annual accounts and a financial report for the AGM
