Sin can be habit forming: Can begin to overflow (James 1:21) Can be walked in continually (Col. 3:5-8) Can become “second nature” (Eph. 2:1-3) Can cause us not to see straight (2 Pt. 2:14) Can enslave the one entangled by it (2 Pt. 2:18ff)

Romans 7:24-25 “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.”

Prayer – Energetically (James 5:16; Mt. 26:41) Overcome evil with good – Purposeful, deliberate substitution (Rom. 12:21; Gal. 5:16; Heb. 3:13; Ps. 119:11) Confess the sin to an ally – Nobody can help if nobody knows (James 5:16) Make the sin inaccessible – Scan. Predict. Turn. Flee (I Cor. 6:18; 2 Tim. 2:22; I Cor. 10:14) Take one day at a time – Don’t be consumed about tomorrow (Mt. 6:34)
