Bae Orthotics Background: Clubfoot Congenital, idiopathic birth defect Affects bones, joints, muscles, and blood vessels Prevalence ~1 in 1,000 births in the US 5-7 times great in underdeveloped countries (Uganda, Honduras) Foot position is pointing downwards and twisted inwards

Bae Orthotics Treatment Most popularly uses a combination of casts and braces $200 - $300 / brace Achieve proper position of foot dorsiflexion, external rotation, eversion With correction the child can have a normal quality of life

Bae Orthotics Goal: Brace Redesign Unilateral Need to assure no rotation of the lower leg Cost effective materials (TBD with co.)
