1 HOW TO SHIFT CHEMICALS FROM ONE LAB TO ANOTHER? Chemical Transfer

2 Chemical Transfer policy at IITBNF 5-500 ml : Taken into secondary container (non- Buddy). 500 ml -4 liters : In bucket ( non-buddy). More than 4 Liters : By trolley ( Buddy).

3 Rules to be followed Wearing chemical resistant gloves, covered shoes and facemask is compulsory Liquid chemicals should not be transferred using passenger lift, equipment lift should be used Buddy is needed when large quantities of chemicals are transferred User specific solid substrates/samples/targets in enclosed boxes can be transferred using passenger lift

4 How to handle or transfer Liquid Nitrogen Use cryogenic cans for storage or transferring LN2 Always wear protective gear thermally insulated gloves, goggles and gum boots while transferring liquid nitrogen

5 Violation If any of the above mentioned procedures are not followed, will be considered as a “VIOLATION”
