3 line A line is the straight path connecting two points and extending beyond the points in both directions

4 line segment All points between two given points (including the given points themselves).

5 ray A part of a line starting at a particular point and extending infinitely in one direction.

6 right angle A right angle is a 90° angle A carpenter’s square forms a right angle

7 acute angle An angle that is less than 90°

8 obtuse angle An angle that has measure more than 90° and less than 180°.

9 intersecting lines Intersecting line are lines that cross each other.

10 parallel lines Lines that do not cross or touch are parallel.

11 perpendicular lines Lines that meet at a point and form 90° angles.

12 Cone A three dimensional figure with a single base tapering to an apex.

13 Cylinder An object or shape with straight sides and circular ends of equal size.

14 rectangular prism A solid (3-dimensional) object which has six faces that are rectangles. It is a prism because it has the same cross-section along a length.

15 Sphere A globe similar to the shape of a circle.

16 Pyramid A polyhedron with a polygonal base and lateral faces that taper to an apex.

17 cube A regular polyhedron for which all faces are squares.
