For example, if you are asked the following question, which word(s) in the question will direct you to the correct answer? For example, if you are asked which place a sentence should be moved after, what should you read? Look in the passage and read each of the answer choices in context.

For example, if you are asked which sentence provides the best conclusion for a passage, what should you consider? What was the whole passage really about?

Benchmark Prep and Review – Grammar Tips and Rules Transitional Words and Semi-Colons 1. Transitional words or phrases show how things relate. A. Examples of transitions and how they are used: However = contrast/change After = what happened next or the next step First = opening or initial step

2. Transitions can be used to JOIN 2 sentences to show they RELATE. Here’s the rules: A. The first word after the semi-colon is lowercase. B. If a transitional word is the first word of the second sentence, it is always followed by a comma. For example, let’s punctuate the following sentences: I love riding rollercoasters however I sometimes feel a little sick afterward.
