 - STaR stands for School Technology and Readiness and is nothing more than a tool use to access the technology needs at a district or more specific at a campus level to better serve the students. This is done by keeping a careful budget of resources based on the evaluation of this particular tool.

SOME OF ITS MAIN USES  -To create and/or update the district's technology plan.  -To help conceptualize the campus or district vision of technology.  -To measure student and teacher proficiencies with regard to the integration of technology into all content areas.  -To set benchmark and goals. Campuses and districts may us the chart to identify current education technology profiles, establish goals, and monitor progress.

 Following I will present the statistics from my campus Veterans Middle School.

 -It seems that the statistics are the same from year 2008 until present. Our campus still finds itself in a developmental phase.  -Teachers are using technology in the classrooms but the focus to get students to become interactive with technology still developing. We are striving to develop student center learning stations to foster higher critical thinking skills.

 -Every single level indicates that we are still at a developing phase in regards to professional development.  Even though every area shows developing, I feel that our district is doing a tremendous job in making professional development available as the time goes by. Our campus is making a great effort in making sure that everybody has access to staff development to increase our awareness of technology.

 This particular area is still developing according to the statistics.  The belief is that our administrators are becoming more informed about our technology needs by attending workshops and technology training. This will hopefully bring everything everybody together on this long term technology goal; administrators, MTT’s, and technology support personnel working together to better serve our students.

 Again, our campus still in a developing phase in regards to our infrastructure for technology.  To match the target area it will take not only some serious investment from our district in redesigning our classrooms, but getting more technical personnel and hardware to support the cause.  With the recent budget cuts it will be from hard to impossible to reach target point.

The statistics shown in these different graphs represent the input provided by the staff at this particular campus. The trends from one year to another seem to be the same so its hard to utilize these data to make accurate predictions based on this information since is apparent that the reliability of data from this charts is questionable. It seems that there was a problem with the data due to either human or software error.
