Numerical Data is considered to be “numerical” if it involves a NUMBER. For example: The question, “How old are you?” is looking for a NUMERICAL answer.

Categorical Data is considered to be “categorical” if it involves a CATEGORY, or simply - WORDS. For example: The question, “What color is your hair?” is looking for a CATEGORICAL or WORD answer.
