Group yourselves with other people who received the same “persona” as you. Write a one-page news article from this person’s perspective (even if you don’t agree with the person’s view). You will be sharing with the class. Make it good.

Step 1: Stories are assigned or selected. Step 2: Information is gathered(research, interviews, etc.) and stories are shaped. Step 3: Editors decide where stories will be placed/layout created. Step 4: Editors look for weaknesses, fact- checkers verify truth, copy-editors fix grammar and style issues, headlines and captions are created.

Step 5: Design and layout artists place articles and graphics. Step 6: Proofreaders complete a final check. Step 7: An editor gives his final approval. Step 8: The paper is sent to print!

You need to decide who you want YOUR audience to be. Then, you’ll have to choose a variety of hard and soft news stories (as well as advertisements and “extras”) that is appropriate for your target audience.
