12 Future-Ready Core Graduation Requirements Second Language: - Not required for graduation but required for admission to the UNC system Health & Physical Education: 1 Credit - Health/PE Arts Education: 1 Credit - A course in the Fine Arts

13 Future-Ready Core Concentrations 4 Credits in Career and Technical Education OR 4 Credits in JROTC OR 4 Credits in an Art Discipline OR 4 Credits in a Second Language* OR 4 Credits in Advanced Placement* OR 4 Credits in College Courses OR 4 Credits within one of the following areas: English, Math, Science, or Social Studies* * Excludes courses that meet other graduation requirements

14 Electives and other Requirements 7 Elective Credits total: 2 Electives must be any combination within the same area (mini-concentration) Career and Technical Education, Arts Education, or Second Language* (both credits in the same language) Total of 28 credits *UNC-system colleges require two Foreign language credits

15 Credits for Graduation 9 th grade 6 credits minimum to go to tenth grade 10 th grade 13 credits minimum to go to eleventh grade 11 th grade 20 credits minimum to go to twelfth grade 12 th grade 28 credits or 87.5% of possible credits 28 credits to GRADUATE

16 How Do I Earn Credit? 1 Have a passing final average in the class 60 or higher 2 Have NO MORE than 10 absences in the class. If a student has more than 10 absences, they may not receive credit, even with a passing average in the class.

18 General Information Drop/Add first five days of school for valid educational reasons Teacher Initiated Changes No more than ten absences per semester – Excused/Unexcused absences no difference – Provide documentation for doctors visits 3 days to make up work
