COUNT US IN Far more women are likely to join a union, as members, activists and leaders, when unions reflect the gender diversity in their leadership. By promoting women leaders, unions gain capacity to build workers’ power and, to win better rights for all workers. More women in leadership enhances the ability of unions to reach out to, organise and mobilise more women members and activists.

COUNT US IN Importance of empowering the role of women
in decision making, in the leader positions , policymaking, respect the importance of gender equality, non-discrimination between men and women at the workplace, for decent wages, for equality in wages between men and women and also for decent work according to EU directives and ITUC strategy. decrease of criminality in the society

COUNT US IN BSPSH has reached participation of women in lider structures at 35% , 5 % more than provided in the statute of ITUC . Also in accordance with the decisions of the 3-rd Congress of ITUC Mr. Kalaja( at the 6-th Congress of BSPSH on 2014 took the decision to achieve the objective of + 5% women membership by decision of the 4th ITUC Congress in 2018, so the representation of women in our Confederation ( BSPSH) to reach at 40%.

COUNT US IN BSPSH on organized the seminar with the theme "The role of women in empowering the structures of the trade unions and in decision-making bodies . The role of the media inhighlighting the values and the role of women in the society ". BSPSH will continue the compaign “ COUNT US IN in national level , in enterprises and in other cities of Albania .

EU directives for #EqualPayDay
The fight against the gender pay gap should be part of a clear, long-term strategy for gender equality, including strong support for collective bargaining. Without changes of the legislation the descrimination will continue . Policy ,solidarity and decent living conditions for migrant women.

The role of trade union Trade union action are needed:
1. Implementing gender mainstreaming into all ETUC policies 2. Achieving equal pay between women and men 3. Eliminating gender representation gap in decision making bodies 4. Promoting the combination of work, family and private life 5. Addressing the link between domestic violence and workplace rights Violence - domestic violence, sexual harassment, rape, sexual violence during conflict and harmful customary or traditional practices such as female genital mutilation, forced marriages and honour crimes. It is estimated that in Europe, 20% to 25% of women have suffered physical violence at least once during their lives
