Poetry Workshop #3: Food Memory Poems Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding of SPEAKER & TONE as a poetic devices by using it in original FOOD MEMORY poems.

STEP 1: Choose your topic FAVORITE FOOD THE FOOD THAT PLAY A SUPPORTING ROLE IN YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES OR SPECIAL OCCASSIONS.

STEP 2: Gather your materials 1. What kind of vessel or container is it served in? Plate, cup, bag? 2. Name three ingredients used to make it. 3. Name an accompanying dish or food 4. Is it eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, or snack? 5. Who are the three people who you like to share this meal with? 6. Name parts of the food: i.e. the crust, the bun, the broth, the vegetables, the cheese, etc. 7. What utensils is it eaten with? Spoon, fork, chopsticks, fingers, tortilla, etc. 8. ADVERB that describes how you eat it: slowly, quickly, ferociously, ravenously, etc. 9. Person you wish you could eat this meal with again. 10. Pick a verb that best describes the person in statement nine. 11. Write a simile that illustrates how they take that action.
