Addapted Clothesline Edsgn100/OTA Project Fall 2015
2
The problem: The problem we are addressing is that of the height of a clothes line to load for a person with a mobility and/or vertical reach restriction.
3
Goals: Design a way to hang clothing on a clothesline by someone who is possibly wheelchair bound or has a restricted range of motion or even simply a height problem.
4
Remaking of the age old Clothesline Objectives: Design an adaptable clothesline system to assist the vertically challenged person to hang clothes using a safe, inexpensive, long lasting solution. Constraints: Constraints to our design will preferably be under $100, hold a minimum load of 50lbs and approximately 35ft linearly to accommodate an average load, have around 6ft of clearance between clothesline and ground while having the ability to lower to at least 4ft.

1 st concept wagon wheel line The concept was that the loader would be able to be stationary and spin the wheel away from themselves and a mechanism would keep the tilted wheel from spinning the loaded side back downhill towrwards loading position. Problem being that only an outside line would be easily accessible with the tilt, so to cover a circumference of 35ft the sides would have to be approximately 9ft.
6
2 nd concept single line This simple concept would be one single line on pulleys, and stretch out over 35ft with 2 poles and legs that would mechanically drop down to desired height. Problems:
