Plan ahead for your schedule. Know your schedule of finals Day 1 – Monday, May 31 Science English Day 2 – Tuesday, June 1 Math History Day 3 – Wednesday, June 2 World Language Conflict Exams Know your personal schedule & obligations The weekend before finals Each night of finals Conflicts Teacher review sessions Make a plan Is there one class you must focus on most? How much time do you want to dedicate to each course?

Correct for absences. Extra help for difficult material (if you failed a test or a quiz this term!) Collect missed work/notes MAKE UP MISSED WORK EARLY!!

Learn about each exam. Cumulative? Will it be an objective test (true/false, multiple choice)? Short answer? Essay? Combination? What details will the teacher provide? Ask for the study guide EARLY. The teacher may have them ready for you to begin reviewing.

Organize your materials. Old quizzes and tests Previous study guides Previous note cards Class notes: review and revise Teacher power points Make a master notebook

Stock up. Snacks Choose healthy! Avoid energy drinks! Supplies Index cards Highlighters Binders, folders

Take care of yourself. Eat well Watch caffeine & sugar Set aside time to eat & don’t forget breakfast Fight stress Exercise & take walks Sleep Plan ahead Ask for help Don’t over commit yourself to other things! Clean your room

Make plans to study with someone. Working together can be effective! Improved comprehension Helps people who are auditory learners (listening!) Helps people who are kinesthetic learners (using hands, building, active) Teach each other! Quiz each other! Ask someone new!

Take early advantage of what your teacher offers. Study guides Essay questions Study sessions; extra help Ask for their suggestions
