REFRESHE RS TRAINING 2016 Elections & Handover The big change – Online only! All elections are to be held online this year This doesn’t mean groups can’t have hustings or run offline campaigns. Only voting has to happen online. Fairer elections More accessible elections Allows bigger campaigns Voting will be a week long

REFRESHE RS TRAINING 2016 Elections & Handover How to get ready for your election Communicate with your membership early Get members paid up! Review your committee positions Host an information session Book a hustings

REFRESHE RS TRAINING 2016 Elections & Handover Deadlines 15 th of Feb – Any changes to committee structures locked in 4 th March – Hustings booked in 14 th of March – Nominations open for Committee positions 21 st of March – Nominations close and voting opens 23 rd of March – Voting closes 24 th of March – Results sent out

REFRESHE RS TRAINING 2016 Elections & Handover How to run a good handover Assume nothing – Start from the start. Fill out the Handover document! http://www.su.rhul.ac.uk/activities/admin/handover/ Hand over the keys to the kingdom, the cupboard and the emails. Introduce them to the Students’ Union. Hold a pair of committee meetings after the election, one with the new committee shadowing and one them leading.
