8 3 School Improvement Goals Climate:  Create a school climate where students and teachers are safe  Parents feel confident about sending their child to our school  All students feel significant, belonging and have a positive experience at school

9 Reading:  Meet our quarterly Literacy bench- marks as outlined by ACPS and be be able to read grade level text independently Math  Increase our passing rate on the SOL. We are a “Focus School” this year and this will require a special plan with the state department of education because we didn’t meet our benchmark in one subgroup.

10 How Can You Help? Homework / Agenda Read Aloud. Show your child reading and math are important. Help them resolve disagreements with their peers peacefully. Continue to show respect to all. Good Night of Sleep Show Interest / Ask them questions Attend Parent-Teacher conferences to build good relationship with your child’s teacher Get Involved ( PTO, Volunteer, Be Informed) Special speakers!!
