Oregon Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorder (OCASD) Report to the Governor December 2010 Recommends Navigation Map Primary focus of the Community Services for Children and Families Subcommittee in 2011 Project intent is to give families a navigation tool at the moment of an ASD identification regardless of which system they enter first (medical, educational or developmental disabilities)

Project Details Workgroup = subset of the Community Services for Children and Families Subcommittee –Oregon Department of Health Services –Autism Society of Oregon –Families –Oregon Technical Assistance Corporation –Providers –County Health Department –Mental Health Starting point –Review and analysis of navigation tools from across the country –Survey of families across Oregon

Next Steps Four focus groups with families around the state Two pilot sites with providers and families in a clinical setting Implementation of a dissemination and sustainability plan
