The human child experiences new things, matures and processes information in more complex ways.

As the human child experiences interactions with other people, their emotional and social skills develop accordingly.

15 Lifespan AGE GROUPS Prenatal- conception-birth Infant - birth -12 months Toddler- 12 months- 2 years Preschool- 3 years- 5 years School Age- 5 years- 12years Adolescent= 13 years – 25 years!!! Young Adult= 25 years- 40 years Middle Adult= 40 years- 65 years Late Adult= 65- death

17 Journal Entry (on left hand side) Give ONE example of a skill a child learns in each area of development o Physical o Intellectual o Emotional o Social

18 Activity For each area of development, ◦ Give an example of a positive influence on this area ◦ Give an example of a negative influence on this area ◦ Make a mind map to illustrate the positive & negative influences on the areas of development. ◦ Must include ◦ All PIES ◦ One positive & one negative influence for each PIES ◦ Drawings/Illustrations for each area ◦ Correct grammar and spelling!!!!!!
