Climate Change End of unit test

A – C, D, B, E B – 50BC C – 1750 C – Sun spot, Volcanoes, Orbital theory D – Two valid statements about how they change the climate. Does it increase or decrease the temperature and how does it do this? E – Human example is Little ice Age or Greenland Vikings Environment example is mega fauna extinction

F – 1 -2 marks no diagram or poorly labelled. One or two brief statements about pollution and trapping of Sun’s heat. 3-4 marks Good labelled diagram. Clear explanation of how human activities releases Carbon Dioxide or Greenhouse gases and how they let Sun’s energy through but only let some escape back out.

G – 2 tonnes per person H – North America I – More developed so uses more energy produced by fossil fuels which release carbon dioxide. Richer so uses more technology which will require more energy resulting in more carbon dioxide being produced.

1-2 marks Mention possible effects of global warming such as sea level rise or water supply problems. Little explanation of how this might happen or why LEDCs will suffer. 3-4 marks Clear description of two different problems caused by global warming. Locates where this could happen and clearly explains why LEDCs might suffer more severely.
