3 9.5 Inverse Functions Horizontal Line Test: the inverse is NOT a function if you are able to draw a horizontal line that intersects the curve more than once One-to-one: – If curve passes both the vertical and horizontal line tests. – For each x there is only 1 y and for each y there is only 1 x – Both the curve and its inverse are functions Pass Horizontal Test One to One Fails Vertical Test
