2 ESC, Region 6 is located in beautiful southeast Texas in the piney woods, 60 miles north of Houston, in Huntsville, Texas. The adult education department held the spot as the 5 th largest program in the state of Texas and successfully provided service for over 40 years. Currently, we are in the position of lead agency in the Houston Galveston Area consortium of AEL providers. 6 Implement and support a robust Distance Learning Program Many adults in Texas cannot take advantage of regular adult education services for a variety of reasons:  the learning center is too far away  transportation is not available  there is no childcare  work schedules conflict with class times  a student has a physical disability Distance Learning students reach their educational goals faster than non-DL students. Students may enroll in a distance education class while they are taking a regular class. Very important to get just the right people to work with distance learning  Coordinator  Teachers  Aides  Persistent  Cheerleader  Thorough  Tech savvy  Organized

7 By braiding resources and engaging in collaborative efforts with multiple institutions and entities, we recruit and retain our best clients. Thank you Robin Booth rbooth@esc6.net 936-435-8330
