3 Introduction - Self Service (Student – Parent) The Self Service portal is a one stop shop for students and parents. All academic details related to the student can be made available here. Students can pay fees online, view fee details, request for hostel/ transport/library services and so on from right here itself. The widgets and the quick links provisioned for the students are replicated on the parent portal and would be available to the parents. So the students and the parents may share different user credentials but have access to same set of widgets and quick links. Apart from the widgets available from the different iON solutions, there are also social widgets that help to manage different social activities and business activities from the single point. To learn more about social widgets, click on the link below iON Social Widgets GD Note: The iON Social widgets is a link to the pdf on social widgets. 4 Click on any of the tabs to learn more The student and parent users in Self Service can enjoy various benefits that are displayed in the diagram below. Click on any of them to learn more.

5 Xyz has joined Adhyayan University in the MBA batch and has received an email notifying him about the Self Service portal. His father has also received a similar email. Both the email’s have the individual user credentials for Xyz and his father respectively. For demo purpose, we will see how Xyz will access the Self Service portal for the first time. This process will be the same for the parent as well. Let us see how it is done. My User Account Click on the Show me button to view a demonstration. GD Note: Use an appropriate name instead of Xyz wherever Xyz is mentioned.

6 When the Self Service portal is provisioned for the students and parents, they will receive an email notification regarding the same with user credentials to access the Self Service portal. GD Note: We can show a dummy image of the body of an email with text as below: Hi, We welcome you to the iON Self Service portal. Please find below your user credentials to access the Self Service portal. We hope you will have an enriching experience. The Login section can be shown as a slide show. Slide 1 My User Account

7 Students and parents will be separate users in the Self Service portal. They will have the flexibility to view various academic details in the form of widgets and request for services such as letters, hostel, transport and so on in the form of quick links. They can pay fees online by doing a transaction. Library books can also be reserved from here by raising a request. Slide 2 My User Account

8 Access the iON website and login with your user credentials received in the email. Note: When you login the first time, the system will prompt you to change the password. Slide 3 My User Account

9 The Webtop is displayed. On the Webtop, the Preferences icon is available. Click on it. Slide 4 My User Account

10 The iON Preferences panel is displayed with the My Preferences section open. You can update your details in sections such as Locale Preferences, My Photo and My Profile. Slide 5 My User Account

11 In the Change Password section, you can change your password as well as set a Secret Question which can be used in case of a forgot password situation. Slide 6

12 My User Account Click on the W icon also known as the Start Panel which will then display the iON Solutions panel. You can do a right click on the desired solution icon and select the Add to Quick Launcher option to place it in the Quick Launcher panel on top. 3 3 2 2 1 1 GD Note: The circles are the order for highlighting the sections. 13 My User Account Click on the Self Service solution icon from the Quick Launcher. Let us now see, how the Self Service portal looks like. Slide 8

14 My User Account The Self Service portal is displayed. It has a host of services for the users such as Profile, widgets, categories, quick links and so on. Slide 9

16 Click on the Show me button to view a demonstration. Xyz as a user has also got the flexibility to manage and update his profile on the Self Service portal. Let us see how he does it. Profile Update

17 On self service portal, under the Profile section, click on Profile Update.

18 Profile Update The Profile Update page is displayed. You can upload your photo, update Email Id, Blood Group and Telephone Number, Marital Status and so on. Note: Maximum size limit for photo upload is 1MB. GD Note: Highlight each section according to its text in bold.

20 Widgets Xyz can now access explore the different widgets and other features available in the widgets. Let us see how it is done. Click on the Show me button to view a demonstration.

21 A Widget is a place holder for information retrieved from different sources to provide quick updates to the user. It is a dashboard containing transactional data from different iON solutions. Users will be able to view the widgets and quick links of those solutions which are mapped to their profile. Click the next button to proceed. Widgets

22 The image displays a few of the widgets that are visible on the self service portal. The user has the option to choose from a list of widgets. Click on the Add Widgets button.

23 The user can search from the list of widgets available in this section. After selecting a particular widget or widgets, click on the Add button and then click on the Submit To Category button. You can deselect any widget by clicking on the Remove button.

24 Widgets The selected widgets will appear on the portal.

25 Widgets As you can see, each widget is a dashboard in itself.

27 Widget categories Xyz wants to create a personal widget category that has a combination of necessary widgets that he needs to be updated about on a regular basis. Let us see how it is done. Click on the Show me button to view a demonstration.

28 Widget categories Widget Categories are provided to users for easy management of widgets. For example, if the student wants to club fee related widgets such as fee schedule, fines and payment history, he will create a Fee category for these widgets and add them to this category.

29 Widget Categories Click on the Create New Category option.

30 Widget Categories The Create a Category box is displayed. Enter the category name and click on the Save button. GD Note: Enter a suitable category name.

31 The system will display the newly created category and an empty space in the widgets section will appear. Click on Add Widgets to add the widgets of your choice. Widget Categories

32 The widgets provisioned to you as a user will be displayed in this section. Select the widgets and click on the Add button. Widget Categories

33 After selecting the required widgets to form your category, click on the Submit To Category button.

34 Widget Categories The widgets of the newly created category now appear on the screen. As you can the see the Category name on top and the selected widgets displayed below the category name. You also have widget preferences. Click on Preferences next to Add Widgets.

35 Widget Category Preferences The widget preferences allow you to choose the widgets from any category which you do not want to be displayed on the widget dashboard when you login. Similarly, you can rename any category by clicking on Rename option. You can set any category as Default using Set as Default option and also delete any widget category using Delete Category option. 36 Apart from creating categories, you can also manage these categories. From the Categories drop-down list, select Manage Categories. Widget Categories

37 The Manage Category section is displayed. You can rename the categories, delete them and even set them as default categories. Widget Categories

39 Quick Links A Quick Link is a quick access feature to a module or sub module of any iON solution where the user can place requests for various services such as transport, letters, claims and so on. In simple words, a quick link is nutshells of various solutions that can be access from one point that is Self Service. Every quick link provides an option or options using which you can explore the benefits of various services provided by the organisation. This section will be slide show with 2 slides followed by a show. This will be slide 1

40 Quick Links Slide 2 The Quick Links are located on the left hand side of the Self Service portal.

41 Quick Links Xyz wants to access the Library quick link to search for the books available in the library and would like to place a request to reserve one of them if need be. Let us see how it is done. Click on the Show me button to view a demonstration.

44 Raise Request Xyz wants to apply for a passport and is required to submit a bona fide letter to the authorities along with other documents.
