9 Student Options for Wiki Project: (9) 1. Radio Broadcast (any event from World War II) 2. Japanese Internment (use internet and other research tools to read original articles involving Japanese Americans in California 1941-42. Use LA Times, SF Chronicle, SF Examiner, Oakland Tribune. Discuss what the research suggests about the mainstream press. 3. Political Cartoon (any event from World War II) 4. Letter to Truman (advise him on what to do with the two atomic bombs) Students build a historical perspective about the reasons for using the bomb against Japan. 5. Digital Sequencing of events that brought WWII to an end 6. Journal Entries (Eyewitness accounts of death camps) Students write a journal or letter based on what they discover. 7. War Heroes (students choose a war hero or military unit) Students should do research (Podcast) on the group or people they selected. 8. Blitzkrieg Tactics – German strategy to work on the landscape of the battlefield. Include(3): a diagram of troop deployment in a blitzkrieg; examine Europe map & discuss why the tactics are so well suited to the geography; and speculate on the effectiveness in mountainous terrain and over long distances. 9.
