Ending Triggers Prompt: Everyone should learn how to read. Explain why learning to read is important. Money: It is my intention to keep increasing my reading skills. One day when I am a wealthy lawyer I will put those skills to good use when I prepare for trials. Safety: In my opinion, learning to read is very important. How grateful I am each day on the way to school that my mom can read the road signs that keep us out of harm’s way on the busy highways. Role Modeling: Reading is probably the most essential skill that a person can learn. I am glad my parents were readers and helped me see just how important it is. Responsibility: I have always considered reading one of the most valuable things that I learned in school. Imagine being a citizen in the United States today and being unable to exercise your right and responsibility to vote for political candidates who control your future.

Pleasure: I can’t imagine being unable to read. Nothing is as exciting as curling up with a good book beside a crackling fire on a winter evening. Health: I will always believe that learning to read is the most important thing that happened for me in school. My healthy body and lifestyle is a direct result of information obtained through my reading. Self Image: Why would anyone not want to learn to read? Why would anyone not want to be “in the know” by reading the latest magazines? Why would anyone want to be less than he could be?
