Confirmed Status 1 STL - People are happier. More support is desirable. Script compiler - Made progress, but not quite there. Need more effort. Thread protection - People are finding out limitation and workaround. Error recovery - People are happier. More improvement is desirable. Documentation - People are happier. Progress mainly made by FNAL. Practical improvements

Confirmed Status 2 Exception handling - std::exception, std::bad_exception support - throwing exception from within bytecode Sun CC5 support - Around Apr 2000 This is probably the most important issue for Cint long term support

CINT long term support What happens if Masa is gone??? - This is unlikely as long as I am using it, but just in case... CINT will still be there - open source - Current features stays the same Support from FNAL - Support and enhancement may become slower, but still there The real issue is the evolution of C++ compiler - Poor backward compatibility - New C++ compiler may not compile old dictionary Good news is that ANSI/ISO C++ is fixed now. C++ compiler will be stabilized in 1-2 years.
