A Few Facts and Figures First commercially planted in 1973 in Marlborough. With 14,735 hectares, it represents 47% of all NZ plantings. Marlborough dominates production with 84% of the Sauvignon Blanc plantings. In year to June 2009 NZ exported 91.7 million litres (81% of all wine exports).
