WHAT IS… the most complicated thing you have ever done? WHERE DID THE ROSARY COME FROM? One belief is that the Rosary was a gift from the Virgin Mary to St. Dominic. Historically the Rosary became popular between the 1100’s and 1400’s. It’s original Latin name was Rosarium, which means a “Garden of Roses”. It was considered the “Pauper’s Psalter” because it was cheaper, lighter, sturdier, and easier for illiterate poor Catholics to use.
