After the 2011-12 year and review, the FOE committee made multiple recommendations for work. These activities have begun and we intend to review our: ◦ Fall 2012 Activities ◦ Planned Winter 2013 Activities ◦ Planned Spring 2013 Activities

Reconnect with Faculty Advising Review Compass Placement Testing Re-establish the Career Center Call campaign for Non-returning Students Plan for a Spring Pilot testing Mandatory Enrollment controls Develop new input structure for SEM

Reconnect with Faculty Advising ◦ AD’s working with SASS Director to support faculty advising ◦ Training on how to use existing tools ◦ New tools being created

Review COMPASS Placement Testing ◦ Creation of task force ◦ Review of current processes ◦ Next steps Developing a system to share students’ scores (Testing to Datatel and then available to instructors) Importing scores to Datatel is a precursor to being able to enforce prerequisites

Re-establish Career Center ◦ Hired Career Specialist ◦ Created space devoted to career activities

Call Campaign ◦ GOAL: contact students who were enrolled in Fall 2011 and then were not enrolled in Fall 2012. Understand why they left ◦ Discoveries Our processes for identifying and sorting students can be improved: 2832 student names were pulled – some had graduated Our resources for contacting students are limited: interviewing students and problem solving is a specialized skill set

Planning a Pilot Cohort ◦ GOAL: have a cohort of students who have Completed a CCC application Taken the COMPASS placement test Participated in New Student Advising and enroll in classes for which they meet the pre-req’s Participated in New Student Experience ◦ Will take place in Spring 2013

Begin Pilot for mandatory admissions, placement testing, NSE, and NSA for new students in spring term. Begin review of courses with high numbers of D, F, W and I’s Pilot using Early Alert for students Continue to support faculty advising Continue call campaign Continue diversity work
