2. What is an energy independent home?  Pretty easy to define (for the most part): Does your energy come from a sustainable source? Are you disconnected from the grid?  A few people believe they are “energy independent” yet still rely on propane (or some other fossil fuel). Some people look at these folks and claim they are really not energy independent.
