According to a recent study by the National Student Clearinghouse, 15 percent of students who started at two- year institutions in 2006 completed a degree at a four-year institution within six years (Shapiro et al., 2012).Shapiro et al., 2012

12. What Does This Mean For You? 43% of students who start college are not able to take unit bearing classes. What Does the Research Say? Students are not writing very much. Typical secondary student expected to produce 1.6 pages of writing per week in English and 2.1 pages for all other subjects combined. 40% of 12 th graders report hardly ever being asked to write a paper of 3 or more pages.
