What did I teach? What were my expectations? What was the reality? What was unexpected? What I learned from this experience?

Dr. Chen’s Section 2 Digital Media Class Dr. Chen’s Section 5 Digital Media Class Dr. Xu’s Section 3 Digital Media Class (3/2/09) Dr. Xu’s Section 6 Digital Media Class (3/4/09) Did an introduction of myself, introduction to ITEC4110, overview of bitmap versus vector, went over projects, did example, and assigned project.
4
Students would appreciate a more in-depth project on bitmap & vector imaging. Students would appreciate the detailed Wiki page I created. Students would use the resources provided to them to help with their understanding and get a good grade.
5
Some students complained about why the project was made harder from previous semesters. Some students were confused by the detailed instructions, found it harder to interpret. Some students did not use the tutorials provided and instead waited until the help session to ask their questions.
6
The lack of enthusiasm from many in the classes about the imaging projects. The lack of usage of the tutorials provided to help them with their projects. The different levels of understanding and comprehension of information by different students.
7
No matter how much work you put into making your own teaching material, there will always be questions. Everyone understands and comprehends information on different levels. Students will not always use the resources given to them on an assignment.

Teaching is not easy! You are required to teach a certain amount of material in an allotted time frame. You have to be patience with students. You can not go too fast but also not too slow. You don’t want to leave anyone behind but you also don’t want to punish the rest. You can not favor certain students over others. Any extra credit should be given to all, not just the ones that “need” it. Be in their shoes every now and then.
9
With 2 classes left to teach, I will definitely approach them slightly different in regards to the teaching process. Teaching is harder than it seems. Teaching is very fun and rewarding. Feedback from teacher student and student teacher is very helpful and necessary to enhance the teaching & learning process.
