China’s History Dates back to 3,300 years 13 th century--the Mongols became the first alien people to conquer all China China came under alien rule for the second time in the mid-seventeenth century The Manchus

Quick Facts Capital: Beijing. Main Cities: Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Wuhan, and Harbin. Population:1,349,585,838 people.

China’s Government China is divided into 23 provinces They have a type of government called communism a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common China supports North Korea

Geography Natural resources: production of energy, food, shelter materials and fuel It’s cold in northside winters and really hot in southside summers Average of 38 degrees Celsius One of the landmarks is the Great Wall. China’s location is in Asia south of Mongolia and is west of the United States.

China’s Economy China Manufactures everything China’s agricultural products are rice, wheat, oil- seeds, cotton, and tea. The Chinese currency is “Yuan” or “Renminbi”

The People Main language is Standard Mandarin but Mandarin Chinese is spoken by 70% of the people School is from 7am-4pm

Traditions Jiaozi, that is boiled or steamed dumplings Guotic or fried dumplings Xia Long Bao or the soup dumplings Noodles, both fried and soup noodles Baozi or steamed and filled buns Soy egg cooked in Soy Sauce Tea Egg prepared by soaking or stewing in tea

Traditions They have some of the same drinks as us, for example: Prune juice Bottled water Fruit punch Lemon water or tea
