What Do We Want to Accomplish? Where are we? Reflect on the past year – what have we accomplished? Place the college against ACCJC Rubrics (Standards) Are we meeting our mission? Where are we going? Review/revise college’s mission, goals & objectives (if needed) Review/revise Institutional Priorities for 2009 to guide improvement efforts Develop Institutional Priorities for 2010 to guide budget development and resource allocation How do we get there? Understanding of college’s improvement process/cycle

Ground Rules Everyone participates Active questioning and dialogue is encouraged – there are no bad questions This is a product oriented workshop – the result will affect you and others – so your active engagement is very important We have a lot to cover – so facilitator retains the right to move along We have a lot of work to do – so let’s start on time

Rules for a Good Meeting Respect each other. Listen to learn. Think about ways things can be done. Try to finish speaking in one minute. Ask many questions, Disagree agreeably. Respect the positions of others even when they do not support your own. Think twice; respond once. Silence means agreement. Have some fun.

Time Morning sessions 9:00 AM to Noon Afternoon session 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM A light breakfast will be available beginning at 8:15 AM each day with refreshments in the afternoons The President will provide lunch at the college’s cafeteria for participants not on a college TA
