2. Born on June 12, 1929, Anne Frank was a young girl who was well known for a diary she started writing when she was 13, when she first received it on her birthday. As a Jewish girl she started growing up normal until the Jewish community was being taken over by the Germans. This diary of hers tells the story of her and her family living through the holocaust. Unfortunately, Anne and her older sister, Margot died March, 1945 due to typhus.

3. Much is known about her from both living family and the thoughts recorded in her diary and many people have heard her story and experiences from movies and novels produced over the years. Anne’s diary has been reposted to be published in three different languages.

4. In this diary, Anne writes how she wished to be a journalist and when her father reads this, he decides that her story should be shared and that’s what she wanted.

5. In 1959, a movie was produced about Anne Frank called The Diary of Anne Frank, explaining what she went though and how she and her family lived during the holocaust. 7. I watched this movie and the overall feeling was tense. I found it to be a very upsetting movie, especially the ending. Just watching the events that the Frank family and their friends had to witness during the holocaust was almost unbearable. As a young teenager, Anne was desperate to grow up too quickly. In her diary, she showed her true self, all her thoughts and feelings. She was a very intelligent girl with maturity beyond her age. This is also shown in the movie, of how she gives what she has to save her sister. But unfortunately it is not enough. Anne always stayed strong for her family even when she, herself was falling apart.

8. As of today Anne’s father, Otto Frank still lives. Along with the woman who housed the Frank family and their friends. Their story is still being told both by the people who witnessed the events, and by novels, shows or movies still being produced.
