Many years ago, giraffes lived in three different continents : Africa, Asia, and Europe. Now, giraffes like to live in the warmer area on the map.

Giraffes are herbivores, meaning they only eat plants. The plants they eat are : leaves and bark of trees. They use their long neck. They don’t eat a tree in specific, though.

Giraffes have a very unique pattern. Giraffes from different areas of the savannah have different patterns. A few are shown above.

A baby giraffe starts to eat leaves when it is two to three weeks old. About a year and a half later, the two-year-old giraffe is ready to leave and have a family of it’s own. For the rest of it’s life, the giraffe will stay with it’s family. The giraffe lives for 20-25 years.
