1 INTRODUCTION  Mobile App Creation for Universities – Targeted Initially at Math Intensive courses  Penn State – Aerospace and Mechanical Department to kick-off and develop to other dept. and universities  Based on AEROSPACE AERSP 410 class as a prototype- ThermAssist  Currently developing the alpha version to pitch for COIL, Dreamit and Schreyer’s Institute of Teaching Excellence

2 PROBLEMS  Mobile Phones haven’t been considered as an interactive classroom learning  Conventional and Traditional Learning inhibits the usage of new technology incorporation  Usage for math intensive courses – development and time constraint

3 SOLUTIONS PROPOSED  Aid for Professors and Students  Course Intensive Department University  Professors- saves a lot of time preparing for lectures  Students – Refresher and augments learning and HELP IN SOLVING HOMEWORK PROBLEMS AND SERVE AS A CHEAT SHEET FOR EXAMS  Set up Online Modules for few weeks in classrooms

4 OUR ADVANTAGES  There is NO APP currently in the market that could be used for learning in classroom – Unique and New Methodology of classroom learning  Effective retention tool as it is – Learning While Doing(LWD)  Easy access and acts as verification and validation tool for theory and problematic questions  Catering the student community scope for continuous improvement

6 CUSTOMER SURVEY AND TARGET CUSTOMERS  55.81 % students use cell phones in class.  65.11% students would love to use our app in conjunction with textbooks and other technological materials that the Professor provides.  48 % students believe that the use of this app could enhance their performance in class.  6511 engineering students from Penn State could possibly be benefited from the app.
