Why do I need professional references? References allow potential employers to gather useful information in regards to how you’d perform on the job.

Reference Checklist Ask permission first. Once permission is received, be sure to verify all contact information. Supply the reference a copy of your resume. Keep them posted on your activities. Let them know that an employer may be calling. Thank them!

Sample Reference Questions Why did she leave your company? Did she get along well with co-workers and management? How did he handle conflict? Would you describe him as being a team member? Can you speak to his/her strong and weak points? Can you describe her job responsibilities?
