4. You are living in a village near the city of Behala

5. So how will you survive? Stay with friends? Live in the dump? Beg? Get a job? Steal?

6. Many people survive on the streets of Kolkata by making paper bags.

7. The bags are sold to shopkeepers. They put rice and spices in them for their customers. Other items such jewellery, fruit or whatever they are selling.

8. 200 bags per day = 1 dollar

9. Would you survive by making paper bags?

10. You will now be shown how to make a paper bag.

11. Easy? You’ve got 20 minutes to make as many bags as you can.

12. When you’ve made 10 bags sell them to the shopkeeper

13. So...... Get making!

14. How did you get on? How many rupees did you earn in 20 minutes? How many would that be in an hour? How many would that be if you worked for 10 hours a day?

15. Are your hands dirty? Where would you wash them?

16. How did playing this game make you feel?
