(SIT TOR)  Agencys’ commitment for GEOSS have had momentum.  GEOSS 10 year plan is halfway through.  GEO CoPs are starting their activities. (IGOS transition)  Contribution to Climate issues has become important and urgent. What we aim  To keep momentum of agencies’ commitment for GEOSS.  To demonstrate tangible achievements of CEOS to policy makers.  To enhance communication with GCOS and other initiatives.  To provide forum for discussion among principals and to find new cooperation areas in future. Coordinated Earth Observation Satellite Systems Maximized data utilization for global society

Status of CEOS Work Plan The 23 rd CEOS Plenary I Phuket, Thailand I 3-5 November 20094 WP1000: IMPLEMENTING THE GEOSS SPACE SEGMENT Re-mapping coordination and CEOS IP had shape CEOS agencies are working on comittment for GEOSS WP2000: DEMONSTRATION OF GEOSS SPACE SEGMENT OUTCOMES Deliverables document was drafted Plan at GEO-VI and at COP-15 has made WP3000: SUBSTANTIAL PROGRESS ON GEO TASKS CL-09-03b AND CL-09-03c Both tasks have started as Carbon Task Force of SIT Outcomes from both tasks will demonstrate at GEO-VI and COP-15 WP4000: CEOS, CGMS AND WMO SP COORDINATION ON GEOSS QA4EO is in progress at WGCV Gap analysis between MIM and user requirments from WMO, CGMS etc. is needed

5. Status of CEOS Work Plan The 23 rd CEOS Plenary I Phuket, Thailand I 3-5 November 20095 WP5000: HIGH PROFILE CEOS PUBLICATION CEOS publication to be made for policy makers toward GEO-Ministerial etc. WP6000: ENGAGEMENT OF UNFCCC ON GCOS SPACE-BASED OBSERVATIONS Plans for SBSTA and COP-15 were made. WP7000: DATA DEMOCRACY FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES Data democracy is going on. WP8000: CEOS VIRTUAL CONSTELLATIONS 4 + 2 VCs are in progress towards 2009-10. WP9000: CEOS INFORMATION SYSTEM ESA updated MIM data base. NASA/SEO and CEO worked on CEOS Info Sys and Web site. JAXA worked on CEOS News Letter. WP10000: EARTH OBSERVATION SPECTRUM AND SFCG Communication with SFCG was established.

6. Way of New SIT management The 23 rd CEOS Plenary I Phuket, Thailand I 3-5 November 20096  To keep close communications with CEOS Chair, SIT Vice- chair, CEO, NASA/SEO and CEOS/SEC.  To maintain CEOS documents.  Follow up the results of 2009 CEOS WP.  To focus High Profile CEOS publication as STI task. (JAXA will contribute for its publishing)  To rationalize CEOS activities. (Documentaion, meetings etc)  One SIT meeting in spring + working level meetings in need.

7. SIT-25 Meeting Date : April 13 th & 14 th (side meetings on 12 th ) Venue : HOTEL PACIFIC TOKYO – http://www.pacific-tokyo.com/eng/ http://www.pacific-tokyo.com/eng/ – Direct Railway and Limousine Bus connection from Tokyo/Narita International Airport GCOM Symposium will be held on April 15 th at Hotel Pacific Tokyo
