2. Service Learning… According to some people, service learning is just an easy way to get an A in the class. I thought this before I did it. After going through and experiencing all of it I have realized the true meaning of community service.

3. Service learning is helping others in need, while, benefiting the community. Whether the community service be: picking up trash, collecting items to donate, school activities, or volunteering for a local food shelter, anything can be helpful and even beneficial to yourself. To Me… To Me…

4. Why Beneficial to Yourself? Whether you got into trouble and have to do the work, or if you just want to help in the community, you always leave with a feeling of achievement and satisfaction. It is a great way to help out and feel good about what you did.

5. My Community Service … With being involved in the Shamrock flag football event for Kappa Delta, and more… I have learned a lot.

6. Shamrock 2008 By talking to and visiting local companies I collected over $200 dollars for my philanthropy. Kappa Delta raised over 18,000 to donate to Prevent Child Abuse America and to local shelters here in Valdosta.

7. Flag Football Game KΔ hosts many flag football games with teams of students who donated to our cause. This is a big event we hold, where we also represent and advertise all of the local companies who donated, with big signs and raffles.

8. I attended the Flag Football Game from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. It was a long day but definitely for a great cause! Saturday & Sunday

15. Overall… Overall… After volunteering throughout the year for Adopt a Highway, Goodwill, a local food shelter, and Kappa Deltas Shamrock event, I have definitely left a better person. I have learned a lot whether its by just leaving with a great feeling knowing I made a difference, or just being thankful for my great health and family. it has been a great experience and I look forward to doing it again!
