3 HYPACK CRANE SYSTEM Connection Diagram
The HYPACK CRANE SYSTEM should be installed with the computer in the crane and the remote in the Barge. This will prevent downtime if the wireless link is lost.

4 HCS Web Interface Receives data from all sensors: Passes GPS data
Inclinometer Proximity sensors Wheel Counter Optical Sensor Passes GPS data Is be configured and calibrated through a browser interface

5 Crane Controller Calibration
Crane and Barge will be displayed within map window Controller status can be accessed with any web browser. Sensor calibration interface can be accessed via networked computers Crane status can be checked and programmed via iPhone!

6 Drum Sensors Magnetic sensors (count teeth on a geared wheel)
Optical sensors (count holes in a drum) Wheel Counter ( preferred )

7 Sensor States The system uses a quadrature counter to read the four possible states to determine the position of the drum and calculate depth The sensors can be S1 off S2 off State #1 S1on S2 off State #2 S1 on S2 on State #3 S1 off S2 on State #4

9 BUCKET DIGGING & CAPPING
In DREDGEPACK® the operator can track the location of bucket ‘digs’ or ‘placements’. Each day DREDGEPACK® creates a file to store the day’s buckets. This allows: Easy determination of the area dredged in any period of time. The ability to disable unnecessary data to clear the screen.

10 Setup of the Bucket Footprint
Configured in DREDGEPACK®: Located under ‘Options – Bucket Parameters’. Bucket Size controls the size and shape of the bucket footprint. All buckets are square or rectangular. Solid Hatch Hollow

11 Marking a Bucket Position
Currently the F3 key on the Keyboard or a special switch is used to mark the bucket position. Pressing F3 on the Keyboard places a bucket at the location defined in the Bucket Parameters window. Crane controller can be connected to a bucket switch and sends the marks directly to DREDGEPACK Bucket File (*.BKT) Format Dredge T

12 Displaying Buckets in HYPACK®
A ‘Bucket File’ object is available in the Project Files list of HYPACK®.

13 Sample Buckets The operator will see the bucket marks in the map window transposed over the matrix that is changing based on digging depth.

14 The Bucket Driver The bucket mark driver uses several interfaces to activate a mark. The most common is the serial interface. When using the serial interface a momentary switch is wired between pin 4 and 6 of the serial port. The Bucket driver in HYPACK 2015 has been modified to have multiple functions. They are listed in the dialog to the left. For the Hudson River Project, the addition of material classification has been added. Once the bucket is pressed a material dialog appears on the screen. The operator has until the user specified timeout to mark the material that was in the previous bucket.
