5. Jackson’s veto ■Bank President Nicholas Biddle was convinced to submit the Bank’s charter early in 1832 ■Jackson’s opponents hoped if Jackson vetoed the renewal, people would not reelect him. ■Jackson vetoed the renewal of the National Bank

6. Election of 1832 ■Jackson runs for reelection against Henry Clay ■Clay believed he would win because of Jackson’s veto ■The opposite happens, voters loved Jackson’s veto and he defeats Clay easily
