Introduction: ‘‘But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; tread softly because you tread on my dreams.’’ William Butler Yeats. Was an Irish and British author. He was known as one of the modern poets. He was fascinated by Irish mythology. His work is varied, contradictory William Butler Yeats used many ways in his writing, one of them is imaginary because he wanted his to be attracted to his poets.

Early Life: William Butler Yeats was born on 13 th of June 1865 in Sandymount, Dublin. His mother came from a wealthy family in county sligo, His father was a williamite soldier. After his birth, The family moved to Merville in Sligo. William was the eldest of four children, he had one brother and two sisters; John, Elizabeth, and Suzan Marry. The Yeats family was very artistic, in 1867, they moved to London so that his father can develop his career as an artist. In 1880 the family returned to live in Ireland.

Education: High school education In 1881, William Butler Yeats went to school of Dublin’s Erasmus Smith high school. He was fascinated by biology and zoology. College education He studied in the Metropolitan school of art for two years. During which some of his first poems were printed in the Dublin University Review.

Career: In 1886, Yeats published his first book, a dramatic poem entitled ‘‘Mosada’’ The following year, he edited an anthology called ‘‘Poems and Ballads of Young Ireland’’ In 1889 came his first appearance in book form as a lyric poet, ‘’The Wanderings of Oisin.’’ He wrote a book called ‘‘ The rose’’ in 1893. In 1890 he became interested in theaters after meeting lady Augusta Gregory. He started changing his style from shadowy Romanticism to the satiric and realistic poems.

Personal Stuff: In 1899 he met Maud Gonne She was an English heiress and Irish nationalist He became infatuated with her Proposed several times, but was refused In 1908 he began an affair with her In 1890 Yeats found the Rhymer’s club so that he could meet with other poets and discuss ideas. In 1912, Yeats met Georgie Hyde Lees. They married on the 20 th October 1917. Yeats and Georgie later had two children, Anne and Michael.

Later Life: In 1903, Yeats embarked on his first lecture tour of the USA. Yeats, Lady Gregory, and others set up the Irish National Theatre Society in 1903 to perform plays with distinctly Irish themes. Which after that led to the establishment of the Abbey Theatre in 1904. In 1912, Yeats met Georgie Hyde Lees. They married on the 20 th October 1917. In 1923 Yeats won the Nobel prize for literature. Yeats died in France on 28 th of January 1939. William Butler Yeats is buried at the foot of Benbulben which rises majestically out of the north Sligo plain to a height of 1,725 feet.

Conclusion: By using the imaginary way in his writing, William Butler Yeats attracted his readers attention to his poems. William Butler Yeats is considered to be one of the greatest poets of the twentieth century. He had many poets that attracted people that made him deserve to be one of the best poets in the twentieth century. One of these poets is Easter 1916. Yeats deserved the Nobel prize because of his bitter version of man’s destiny, his view of the empty modern world, and his belief in the eternity and beauty of art.
