5 Prior Reading  Reading Strategy: Make a Prediction.  REMEMBER: When we make a prediction we can take a picture walk, or look at the title page and title to help us figure out what the book is going to be about!  Using the title page, title, and back cover, make a prediction of what this book will be about! It must be at least 2 sentences. Write it in the giant peach on pg 1 of your packet.

8 Chapters 1-4  Read Chapters 1-4 aloud, take turns.  Answer the ODD questions on page questions 11.  On page 12, complete number 1 and 5 with your group.

19 Reading Strategy: Understanding Characterization  REMEMBER: In order to understand the story, we need to understand our characters. By understanding our characters and their thoughts, actions, and traits, we can better comprehend how they fit into the story and how they move the story along.  Choose one character and how they have changed throughout the story.

20 Now that you are finished reading the Book…  Think about the different connections you can make!  Text-to-Text- compare this book to another book or movie.  Text-to-Self- compare this book to yourself and your experiences.  Text-to-World- compare this book to the world around you.  Be ready to share your connections!

21 End of Novel project  You and your group will choose a project to work on together.
